The 15th RoboCup Singapore Open co-organised by Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and Science Centre Singapore (SCS) will be held at the Annexe Hall, Science Centre Singapore, 15-16 April 2023. This event will be the RoboCup Singapore National Selection to select the best teams to represent Singapore at RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) 2023, PyeongChang, South Korea as well as RoboCup World Championship 2023, Bordeaux, France. RoboCup is considered to be the pinnacle Robotics and AI competition which is strongly recognized by top academic institutions and industries worldwide.
To recognize each and every student’s achievement, a New RoboCup Education Framework will be rolled out for participants to progress through with evaluation and assessment at each level. Students at RoboCup Singapore Open 2023 who demonstrate the required skills and competencies outlined in the New RoboCup Education Framework will be recognised with one of the following three grades: Pass, Merit or Distinction.
This year, in addition to RCJ Soccer, RCJ Rescue, RCJ OnStage, RCAP CoSpace Rescue and RCAP CoSpace Autonomous Driving, the following new competitions will be introduced for students of different age groups and skill levels.
- RCAP CoSpace Autonomous Driving FirstSteps U9 for students from Primary 1 to 4 who possess basic Scratch coding skills. No hardware robots required.
- RCJ Rescue Line Entry U12/U19 for students using Lego robots and possess basic coding skills.
- RCAP CoSpace Coding Challenge U19 for students with basic Python/C coding skills. No hardware robots required.
- RCAP CoSpace Autonomous Delivery Challenge U19 for students to develop and strengthen Robotics & AI skills to solve real-world problems, such as last-mile delivery challenge.
All winners including those participating in the new competitions mentioned above will have an opportunity to represent Singapore at RCAP 2023, PyeongChang, South Korea from 5 to 9 December 2023.
